Reiki Session: Exploring the Meaning of Colors

During a Reiki session, a person can see colors, and the question of what they mean comes up. Some of us will experience with our inner sense, waves of color or a melting of various colors as the energy flows.

The colors themselves have no meaning as in a textbook and yet all the meaning in the world to you. If you are from a culture where red is a lucky color, you feel a sense of warmth having it displayed for you during your reiki session. Red brings a sense of safety for you if you come from a family of firefighters. Red can also represent anger to you.

Some people recognize the color from the chakra system and believe there is work to do in a particular chakra or that work is being done in the chakra during the reiki session.

Whatever way you look at it, the recipient of reiki and the practitioner should not become attached to the meaning. You can know things are changing in your life. Let go and be open for further experiences, let your energy flow freely.
