To follow up from last Wednesdays post I’d like to share my journal entries.
What brings me Joy? Of course, the obvious answer is my family – both the one I came from and the one I’ve helped create – there’s something else that truly lights my soul on fire. I experience great joy when I sing, it could be an 80’s hit or a church hymn. It doesn’t matter the genre; when my voice is connected to rhythm and melody, I am alive!
What are my core values? Dependability—I pride myself on being someone others can rely on, and I naturally gravitate toward those who share this quality. Honesty is another key value for me. While my straightforwardness can sometimes lead to challenges, I’ve learned to temper my honesty with compassion over the years. I believe in surrounding myself with people who value honesty as well. Lastly, compassion is crucial in my life. I’ve realized that I can get caught up in perfectionism, but I’ve worked hard to show myself the same grace I offer others when they stumble. This balance allows me to support both myself and those around me in their growth and learning.

Deepak Chopra was on CBS Saturday Morning. He talked about artificial intelligence and where it fits in our lives. He explained how he is using it to help even more people.
Deepak launched his own AI app, called DigitalDeepak.AI. It does not go through search engines. Instead, it uses only things Deepak has said or written in the past that are relevant today. The information given to the AI will also remain anonymous, he said, and won’t be stored.
He believes AI programs and other algorithms can help tackle the nation’s mental health provider shortage.
“I think the only way to fill the gap is through AI, through algorithms that monitor your well-being,” he said. “And that can give you not only advice, but actually help you in the moment to tackle your distress. If we can do that with AI, with these algorithms, with monitoring, you won’t need to see a doctor most of the time.”
“The machine is not intelligent, OK? It’s a database,” Deepak explained. “But it’s an amazing database, because it’s a database of philosophy, of science, of spirituality, of religion, of physics, of mathematics, of biology, of anthropology, the database of human knowledge. There’s no single person who has access to that, but this is like Aladdin’s lamp: You use it correctly and the genie comes out of it and it can solve any problem that you have.”
I think this is very interesting. If I download the app – ok let’s face it – when I download the app, I’ll let you know what I learn. 😉

I’m aware that my life is evolving. With the kids grown and my responsibilities easing, I’m in a phase of self-discovery. I’m not making any major changes to my home, work, or community right now. Instead, I’m focused on understanding who I am at this stage of my life.
Self-discovery at this time can be a transformative journey. After years of prioritizing family and work, we can take this time to reconnect with our passions and interests.
This period often involves focusing on physical and mental health. Self-discovery can lead to healthier lifestyle choices and a greater awareness of personal needs. One thing I’ve added to my physical health is using weights to work towards my strength goals. Balance and strength have become increasingly important to me as I age.
Understanding your values and desires fosters confidence and empowers choices that align with your true self.
Overall, it’s a time to embrace growth, redefine what fulfillment looks like, and create a vibrant next chapter. I’m in!

I know I need reminders about how I take care of myself. When the season changes to Fall, some of the things I enjoyed in the Summer are no longer fulfilling. I consider what I can do in a few moments to offer myself a little boost.
Indulge in the new seasons warm beverage.
The young woman in this photo reminds me to take a break and enjoy the seasons warmth. When I take the time to drink the new season’s warm beverage, I enjoy it more. I don’t need to microwave it because I didn’t get too busy. The few minutes I dedicate to this practice are valuable. Sitting quietly allows me to keep focus on where I am in the moment.
